Solid wood office furniture, with its sense of solidity and grandeur, is frequently used in the offices of senior executives. However, during use, some scratches may appear. Today, we shall briefly introduce several common methods for treating these scratches:
Scratch Repair for Solid Wood Office Furniture
For scratches that do not penetrate the lacquer finish, apply a small amount of melted wax to a cotton cloth. Gently rub the wax onto the affected area, ensuring the scratch is fully covered. Once the wax hardens, apply another layer. Repeat this process several times until the scratch becomes less noticeable.
Treating Burn Marks on Solid Wood Office Furniture
Should the lacquered surface sustain scorch marks from cigarette butts or unextinguished matches without charring the finish, wrap a chopstick tip in a small piece of fine-grained hard cloth. Gently buff the scorched area, then apply a thin layer of wax. This will remove the scorch mark.
Treating Heat Marks on Solid Wood Office Furniture
Placing hot water containers directly on solid wood furniture may leave white circular marks. Wipe immediately upon discovery to remove traces. For deeper marks, gently dab iodine solution or apply Vaseline to the affected area. After two days, wipe with a soft cloth to eliminate the heat mark. Alternatively, vigorously rub the area with a soft cloth dipped in alcohol, perfume, or kerosene to remove the white mark. After removal, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water, then apply a layer of furniture polish.
